What was found
A light or switch positioned inside the clearance zone around a shower and bath, recorded at practical completion on a Riverstone home.
Why the zones exist
The wiring rules define zones around baths and showers where fittings must be rated for the exposure or must not be there at all. The rule exists because water and electricity share the room.
Why it is separated from the list
It is not a finish item and it is not negotiable against a tolerance. It goes in the report as a safety hazard.
Who resolves it
A licensed electrician, relocating the fitting or replacing it with one rated for the zone. It is not an inspector's call to make on site.
How it happens
A fitting positioned before the wet area layout was final, or a shower screen installed slightly differently from the drawing, moving the zone rather than the fitting.
